Welcome to ACWW’s very own column!
I hope that you enjoyed reading about the ‘Traditional Birth Attendants’ Training’ Project in Ghana in February’s WI News; I’m looking forward to being able to update you on the project in future editions.
Thank you to those WIs that have contacted me requesting talks/presentations on ACWW. I’m very much looking forward to visiting you; hopefully, I shall have photographs of the above Project to show you at your meeting.
As I mentioned last month, the Federation is asking WIs to raise a total of £1,250.00 towards the cost of the above Birth Attendants’ Project; this will complete our 2 year ACWW Projects’ Appeal which ends in October this year. I hope that all WIs are now thinking of ways to raise some of that money which will make such a significant difference to the lives of pregnant women and their families, in the Volta Region of Ghana
I’d love to receive any photographs that you take at your ACWW fundraising events so please e.mail or post them to me at WI House.
Please also send in your donations as soon as you have raised them, making the cheque payable to ACWW. Please write ‘project’ on the reverse of the cheque, so that it is not confused with your ‘Pennies for Friendship’ donations.
Women Walk the World for ACWW’ - 29th April, 2012. An initiative to raise awareness of, and funds for, ACWW. Like many charities in these days of financial uncertainty, ACWW is in need of a helping hand to support their day to day running costs. I hope to bring you more information about ‘Women Walk the World’ in a future edition of Worcs. WI News. Any funds raised by WI members for this initiative would have to be done on a personal basis, as WI funds can only be used to support ACWW Projects.
