CHRISTMAS CRAFT STEP BY STEP GUIDES

The NFWI Food and Garden Committee have produced three Christmas step-by-step guides which will be available from November 1st on My WI for members to enjoy. There will also be an ‘Additional Decorative Extras’ guide, which accompanies the three step-by-steps. You can also download 'How to Make A Christmas Candle Centrepiece' here and 'How to Make Additional Decorative Extras' here.

THE NATIONAL GALLERY - A PICTURE OF CHILDHOOD:CHILDREN IN ART

Following overwhelming demand, the National Gallery and the NFWI are pleased to offer members another opportunity to come and visit the Gallery in London on 9 November 2017 to learn more about the fascinating world of children in art. Like previous Study Days, this will be a lecture-based day and will not include a guided tour of the Gallery. Time will be allowed during lunch and after the event for members to view the Gallery, if they wish.

You can download from our website the advertisement, Group Booking Form and an Individual Booking Form. This day will be advertised on the WI website, the WI Moodle and via WI social media channels. An email will also be sent to all those members who have previously attended at Study Day at the Gallery.

Any queries should be directed to Helen Neal at the NFWI Unit and not the National Gallery.

LINK TOGETHER AND END PLASTIC SOUP CAMPAIGNS

The NFWI has produced two new campaign action packs for the resolutions that passed at the 2017 Annual Meeting, Link Together and End Plastic Soup. These can be downloaded for your information and to share widely with members. Physical copies will be sent to every WI and federation in the September mailing. To receive extra copies for events please contact us at pa@nfwi.org.uk The action packs outline background information on the issues and how members can get involved.

FOOD MATTERS CAMPAIGN
The next step for the Food Matters campaign is to take part in our postcard action to encourage supermarkets to publish their food waste statistics. A postcard was sent out to every WI and federation in the September mailing. To receive more copies please contact pa@nfwi.org.uk

SHOW THE LOVE 2018

The NFWI will be taking part in Show the Love again for 2018 and a community pack with exciting ways you can take part and new craft and baking templates will be ready by November. Please send any requests for receiving the community pack when it’s ready, and specify whether you want it via post or email, to pa@nfwi.org.uk

NEW MINI PROMO TOTEMS - AVAILABLE TO ORDER NOW!

The NFWI has designed new Mini Promo Totems to help WIs and Federations brand an promote their meetings and events.

Details
Handy: Mini totems stand 76cm high and 28cm wide, ideal for table-top use.
Portable: When folded, each totem measures 28cm x 19cm x 3cm (about the size of a tablet computer) and weighs just 266g.
Attractive: Double sided design
Useful: Can be personalized with a WI’s own logo, or chosen caption, stuck over the generic WI logo at the top using glue dots or white tack.

ESPECIALLY THEATRE WORKSHOPS

Building on member’s passion to be a part of a theatrical performance, the Science & Leisure Committee is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Especially Theatre, to offer a unique opportunity for member’s to learn more about what it takes to put on the perfect production. You can download a document here containing further information about the workshop programme, a background to Tony Gibbs and Nigel Garton from Especially Theatre and a Booking Form. Details will also be available on the WI Moodle/Combined Arts area for members to download.
