Music and Drama are important aspects of many WIs. The Sub-committee organises events large and small, such as competitive Music and Drama Festivals, the Annual Carol Concert, Pantomimes or Pageants. Regular Drama and Music days are held and members can use the Drama Wardrobe and small Library.

SINGING FOR PLEASURE

Our next SINGING FOR PLEASURE evening is on Wednesday 28th March 7.30pm at Little Witley Village Hall. Come and join us for a happy, fun evening. Don't be shy if you haven't been before, we shall make you very welcome. We sing a wide variety of songs, mostly unison and nothing too difficult, suitable for all ages and all abilities. Merren Anthony leads the evening and the cost is £4 members (£5 non-members). Further evenings have been arranged for Wednesday 25th April and Wednesday 30th May. The booking form is with your Secretary.

DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

On Friday 6th JULY at Abberley Village Hall 7.30pm, we shall be celebrating the QUEEN'S DIAMOND JUBILEE with entertainment and a buffet supper. WI Members from Institutes around the County will be taking part in the entertainment which includes comedy, music, mime, dance, melodrama and there will be a "Last Night of the Proms" style finale for everyone to join in and enjoy. Further details will be available next month but please do keep the date free and join us for this special celebration evening.

LUNCH WITH CELEBRITY SPEAKER

LUNCH with CELEBRITY SPEAKER is on Thursday 26th April at THE HUNDRED HOUSE HOTEL, Great Witley, 12noon for 12.30 pm . We look forward to welcoming as our Guest Speaker CLAIRE WORBOYS, Actress and Singer. Claire will be presenting in words and music, the life and times of the Music Hall Artiste VESTA TILLEY. Claire has appeared on TV in productions such as "Dangerfield", "Doctors", "Dalziel and Pascoe". She has toured with the Musical "Barnum" and sung at venues ranging from The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden to the British Embassy, Dubai. She also sings with the West Midlands Light Orchestra. The cost of is £23 members (£25 non-members) which includes a delicious 3 Course meal with coffee. The closing date is March 26th and your Secretary has the Booking Form.
